February 17th. Pier
On the pier at Fisherman's Wharf
K says this is a very representative picture. Iconic bridge in the background, check. Foreground: crumbling concrete and seagull.

February 16th. Twin Peaks
We walked up Twin Peaks today, the highest point in the city.
The city views were impressive, but I got distracted by the crows who were riding the wind blowing up and over the hill.
Crows and Sutro tower. Far off in the middle distance is the Golden Gate bridge, being overtaken by fog.

February 14th. East to the bay
Looking east, across the bay to Oakland.
This is not a very good picture. But I don't much care, as I took it while taking a late afternoon walk, and it's calming me all over again. What I cannot capture is all the birds who sit here and sing at sunset, the smell of the dirt and grass and flowers and plum trees, or how warm the day was. Happy Valentine's Day, world.

February 11th. Mission Bay
I find this a very odd part of San Francisco. It mostly used to be a railway yard and it's all built on landfill. Only recently it's become full of high-rise luxury condos, UCSF (especially biotech), and corporate headquarters. And here's another one of one of those:
It has a distinct lack of any kind of ambience besides "corporate office park" and "big parking lots near the ball stadium." But I guess we can't all be Lombard Street.
